Listening to Al Franken talk about constitutional law is a lot like listening to Stuart Smalley talk about self-confidence. Words keep coming out of his mouth, but it’s painfully apparent he has not a single damn clue what he’s talking about.

Is it tacky that the police reportedly said that their search for the killer will not end “until the fat lady sings”?

In support of all their crazy talk, they offer the White House’s video of the speech (which shows cadets clapping around the 10:26 to 10:30 point of the video). In doing so, neither Media Matters nor Michael Moore offer the inverse of their possible conspiracy theory (i.e., that the White House edited in stock footage of cadets clapping in order to fill a momentary, yet potentially embarassing, teleprompter pause by the President).

Of course, I’m not saying that either occurred. In fact, I’m saying that I really could not care less. But neither theory is any more or less plausible than the other. Yet another great try by Media Matters and Michael Moore attempting to manufacture a story out of something that really could not be less interesting.

Besides, after Obama’s last visit to West Point, would it be any surprise if the applause was tepid?

The scary thing about this ad is that I don’t know whether Republican marketing teams will no longer be fearful of presenting inevitably controversial advertisements…or if we’ve reached the “If you can’t beat them, join them” point of dealing with Democrat operatives.

I’m sorry to my liberal friends, but this is simply another example in my book of why I’m conservative. While we’re considered so up-tight and straight laced, the bottom line is that we know how to take a joke. Dennis Miller used to have a bit about how it irked him when Dana Carvey would make fun of him with an impersonation…but that deep down he thought it was hysterical–even if only because he “completely fucking idolized himself.” Who cares about the reason? We can take jokes better than liberals…who when made fun of respond like this:

Here’s an idea. Instead of bailing out Greece for the sake of the world, why can’t we just annex it in bankruptcy?

We paid roughly 3 cents for every acre of land obtained in the Louisiana Purchase.

Why not purchase this little resort destination (and, coincidentally, great location for a few choice military installations), for the bargain basement price of $30 dollars an acre? 30 bucks an acre would be rough 1,000 times more than the amount we paid for the Louisiana Purchase. More significantly, it would equal the $1 trillion bailout that is presently being suggested by the EU as the cure-all to this government handout experiment gone horribly, horribly wrong. Sure, for several years Greece may not notice a change–not with the current Congressional delegation and Presidential Administration here in the United States.

But, with annexation, you’ve got to like Greece’s long term outlook more than any prolonged governance by Greece’s current political leadership…which may or may not consist of nothing more than watching reruns of Full House for Uncle Jesse’s advice.
